Though Mana looks like a beautiful Asian woman...he is actually of the male gender. He is the epitome of gender bending as those who do not know him see a beautiful extravegant female. He has pale creamy white skin and is never seen without his make up. He likes blue, black, and purple lipstick mostly...and his eyes are always done up beautifully. Mana keeps his hair long and dyes is often. He is mostly seen in dark blue hair but occasionally he dyes it black, blonde, orange, and an array of every color really. He normally has perfectly cropped bangs and his hair is either kept down or in curls or braids.
Mana lacks in height but makes up for it with his high platform shoes (think spice girls with the shoes). He has dark almond shaped eyes...and he likes wearing colored contacts...His real eye color is black...but he rarely is seen without colored contact lenses. He has a thin girlish frame due to the way he wears his clothes...

He loves dressing in beautiful dresses with lace and other embellishments...but he also likes black leather and fishnets as well. He always wheres platform shoes because he does not like being as short as he is. He often wheres ribbons and bows in his long hair if they match his attire. He never dresses in male clothing. He likes platform boots and shoes.

Mana is very reserved and quiet. He rarely speaks and when he does it is by whispering in the person's ears. His voice if spoken is quite masculine, so not to disturb his feminine appearance he tries not to speak. He likes to keep a mystery about himself and hardly lets anyone know anything about himself.
Mana is hard to get close to. He is very guarded and secretive. Though he looks like a female he does not like the same sex. In fact he likes to date women...which might seem odd but many women like feminine men. His tastes in partners seems masculine but he still plays the part of the girl in dress.
He spends a lot of his time doing mercenary work and the occasional assassination. He does not like doing those much because they get messy. He has learned how to kill his opponent with a minimal of blood shed. For blood stains are hard to get out of fabric.

Mana was born Kioshi Matsushita in Hiroshima, Japan. His parents were very strict and traditional. Everything was done in the custom Japanese way. Mana, or rather Kioshi at the time, was expected to do well in school and go to college. Kioshi's father made sure that his son had the best he could offer. For you see..Kioshi was their only son of four children. Two of the girls had been placed under adoption due to the fact households were only aloud two children at the time. Kioshi's father knew that Kioshi was the only way for the Matsushita name to go on. Because of this fact...Kioshi's father made it his concern to control every aspect of Kioshi's life....from what he read...to what he watched...to his grades...to what classes he would take. This caused Kioshi to be very quiet and keep to himself. He did not have many friends as a young child.
When he was around eight years old his father started to put him in Martial Arts classes. Knowing that learning Martial Arts would teach discipline in his son. Kioshi actually liked taking these classes and took great care in learning various Martial Arts over the years.
When Kioshi was a teenager he started to rebel against his father's strict expectations of him. Though they were done in secret, hidden from his father's eyes. Kioshi would sneak out at night and party with some local teenagers. It was very popular in teenage Japanese culture to dress bizarrely. It at first started with him putting on make up and dressing in strange clothes. He started smoking cigarettes and drinking. He and his friends would go to concerts and clubs. He had been caught sneaking in a few times by his mother...who would scold him and threaten to tell his father if would not desist from this crude behavior.
Kioshi did end up going to college. Though once there he went all out with his dress. Dressing more bizarrely...He managed to look just like a woman when he dressed up. His friends had nicknamed him Mana. Mana being his alter-ego...but after awhile his alter-ego took over and he started going by Mana only...saying that Kioshi had died. Becoming Mana had freed him from his father's expectations....it freed him of the role of the son. He could do anything now that he was Mana.
He had graduated from college with honors. Though he never put his education to use. He instead lived with one of his friends who took it on himself to take care of Mana...for Mana was a continuous amount of entertainment and company. Mana and his friends often went to clubs and partied....becoming regular socialites.
It was on one of those nights of decadence that Mana was first attacked by a vampire...It fed off him...and then the next two nights...the vampire did the same thing...Fed and disappeared. Mana was then turned into a vampire on the third night. The bloodlust that took over Mana caused him to go on a killing spree...When he awoke from his bloodlust he found that he had murdered most of his friends to his horror.
Mana had fled the scene and took refuge in an abandoned building. Over the course of the first few weeks as a vampire he learned to feed on his own...and all the other tribulations of becoming a vampire. He soon started taking up mercenary work in the cities of Japan. His skills he learned in Martial Arts helped him with his work. He soon became an assassin when the opportunity arose. He earned money by doing other people's dirty work. It suited him just fine.
Becoming a vampire...he totally shed his former self...Kioshi Matsushita...and totally embraced the Mana persona. His clothing became more extravagant and elaborate. His mannerisms more delicate and feminine. Though he looked like a woman he did not think like one. He still preferred women as partners.
Five years of being a vampire he had gained quite a reputation. His skills of being a mercenary and assassin were quite impressive. While in his travels of the United States he met Kahlan of the Baltimore coven. This meeting would prove to be beneficial for Mana as Kahlan took him as his own personal assassin.
Mana has been a member of the coven for the passed five years. He is loyal to Kahlan and likes the comforts of the mansion. He likes being at social gatherings for they remind him of his human life as a teenager.
